What Is SER Cable and SEU Cable?

Sep. 08, 2017

There are two popular variations of service entrance cable that we carry - SER and SEU. SE service entrance cable has various uses, but can most often be found being used to convey power from the service drop to the meter base and from the meter base to the distribution panelboard. Beyond this, SER and SEU cable can be used in all applications where SE cable is permitted. If a temperature does not exceed 90 degrees C, SER aluminum alloy cable can be used in dry or wet locations. The voltage rating of SER and SEU cable is 600 volts.
